Sumedha Foundation has taken up the challenge of managing the Pejavara Gau Seva Kendra Situated in Kenjaru, Mangaluru. The Gaushala has 200 plus cows, calves and oxes of different Indian breeds. Most sacred breed of India –Kapila is in highest number in our Gaushala. We are currently running our Gaushala with the help of Donors.
Young volunteers from different professions and educational background are managing the Gaushala without any prior experience in this field. Trustees work here like volunteers to understand the cows and provide better facilities for the innocent animals. Our cows spend most of time outside in the vast grazing fields and they get sunlight which is absorbed by the “Suryakethu nadi” (Special attribute of the desi cows) which in turn helps in improving the milk quality of our cows.
Modern day dairy farming had become money oriented and more concentration was given on increasing the milk yield instead of quality of Milk. It is scientifically proven that the A1 milk produced by the Foreign breeds has high Non-Digestible fat which will lead to many diseases when consumed continuously. Whereas the Desi cows produce A2 milk which is equal to elixir, having many health benefits. Even the cow urine and cow dung are used as Organic fertilisers and pesticides.
We have major challenge of protecting and preserving these cows for a healthy and sustainable future. Sumedha Foundation wants to establish some more Gaushalas in future with the help of donors like you. Organic agriculture is possible only if the cows are preserved, this will enable production of organic and fresh food. This initiative will help in creating a self-reliant, self sustainable and Atmanirbhar Bharath.
We request you to join with us in this initiative and be a part of change.
